You have to get approval? To attend a meeting? Whatever for?

Let me explain...not really approval. But for awhile there were so many Pis returning to chapter meetings that they were disruptive. So the advisors asked us to just email or call ahead to make sure there weren't a ton already attending. Now, i can visit if I want to. But if I want to attend it is just a courteousy. It also helps me prepare. If they are having an informal, I'd like to know to dress accordingly, etc.

Skerbow, You are exactly right! Alumnae may not attend chapter meeting unless they are an advisor or IO. If they have something specific to talk to the chapter about, such as presenting a TME or something else, they need to contact the advisors first. The thinking is that the collegiate business meeting is for collegians only and they should make decisions not influenced by alumnae. I'm sure it's one of those things that got out of hand by just a few people so it became a rule for everyone.

Oh, and thanks for the reminder for Badge Day! I probably would have forgotten!

Hmmm.... I wonder if I'll even get out of the house on Monday? Guaranteed that, if I do, I'll be wearing the Black Diamond with pride!!!

Thanks for the reminder, Sherra!!

Oh YAY! I've been dying to wear mine since I started grad school! I miss chapter since it always gave me a reason to dress up. These days I'm lucky if I end up finding an opportunity to wear anything other than jeans.

I understand completely what you mean! I'm trying to be a little more *dressy* every once in a while, because since I've had my surgery, I've found that I LOVE to shop and I keep finding great dressing up clothes (oh, if only I had this while I was still active, I'd have plenty of stuff to wear for chapter meetings!)

But I figure even with me going to a community college, there are SO many people there preparing to transfer to a four year university, so it's good PR for going Greek, if not going ADPi!

What a GREAT idea!!! I hadn't even thought about that!!

I did get a chance to get my mail today, so I quickly grabbed my pin box, too. [aside]If I haven't yet gotten on my pin box soapbox, I soon will!![/aside]

Anyhow, since my mama went back into the hospital earlier today, and we're REALLY hoping that she'll come home on Monday, I'll just have to spiff up and wear my pin to the hospital on Monday!!

I'm excited to wear my badge today. I work at a community college bookstore and I love to dress up but never have the oppurtunity now I have one. Too bad I have to wear close toed shoes (ie. heels) and I hate having to do that. LOL.

Okay, totally cool result of wearing my pin: I went to visit my mama in the hospital, wearing my pin (and my vintage lavalier, just for good measure). One of the nurses stared pointed at my pin, smiled, and gave "the sign"!!! How cool is that?!

Honey, That is sooooo coooolllll!!!! After I read that you were going to wear it to the hospital, I almost wrote and said I bet you'll meet another ADPi if you do that. Weird!

I have not left the house today but am about to go check the mail. I seriously doubt I'll dress up for that walk to the end of the yard. ha ha. But I could choose to look nice when I take my legacy to tumbling class tonight...............
