Oh my god! I love playing euchre. I thought it was just a Ohio thing. My in-laws are very competitive.
Have fun.

Euchre is really popular in Michigan.
My daughter's Big Sister Reveal is tonight! She's so excited! She has gotten some serious swag all week long...her big has gone all out!

OMG euchre! I had to teach so many out of staters how to play in college. My roommate from Chicago had never even heard of it before.

Add Indiana to the list of euchre lovers! Our high school used to have an annual euchre tournament - one of my good friends and I won it all our sophomore year!

Yep! (Trust me, I'd never leave Chicago for any other reason!) I'm very happy for him, he really deserves it!

The bug that hit me last weekend and wiped me out .....
My husband got it.
I'm still not sure whether it was a cold or the flu. I'm pretty convinced it was a cold. We both took Tamiflu just in case. I've gotten over the bug, except for a lingering cough, which is typical for me when I have a cold. But my husband is taking the maximum safe dose of Dayquil, and is still wiped out.
My mother is still in rehab following her chemo and happy fun trip to the ICU. My husband and I have been driving down to visit her for the past couple of weekends. Since DH needs to rest and neither of my parents needs to catch this bug (especially with my mother's immune system being compromised) it looks like I will be driving down alone tomorrow.

I had a great time tonight, but I got some really, really bad breaks with the cards so I didn't even come close to winning anything. Fun was the goal though Two very funny hands... I was dealt all four bowers and the 10 of clubs. So I call it clubs. I got euchred Only one other player had any trump at all so when I led with both bowers, he hung on to the Ace and took my 10 of clubs. Then he took the last two tricks too. Ugh. I was getting so many 9s it was ridiculous- all night long. One hand, I had a full house.. three 9's and two 10's. I was the dealer and a 10 was up. My partner ordered it up so then I had three 10's and two 9's...lol. Pathetic. We got euchred that hand too.

This weekend is going to be awesome! Looks like "double feature" weekend tomorrow. "Jack the Giant Slayer" and "The Last Exorcism Part II". I normally don't like 3D movies, but Jack the Giant Slayer is a must in 3D.

Just snuck into an event at the hotel because we were told some singers, including Alice Cooper were going to be jamming. It turned out to be Patrick Warburton's weekend long fundraiser for St Jude's. Full of celebs, including David Spade and a bunch of actors I know but don't know their names. And Mr. DS was tired and didn't want to stay.

I should not have made an 8 am eye doctor appointment for a Saturday. Seriously.

Good things may finally be on the horizon for me work wise. I don't want to jinx anything, and I'm trying hard not to say anything to anyone in my "real" life in case something doesn't work out. So please keep your fingers crossed for me and send good juju my way. Our family could really use it. We have still not recovered from my husband's job loss almost 5 years ago.

I hate filling out 14 pages of part-year resident tax forms for my $110 of taxable income from tutoring in grad school. $4 in state taxes owed, $4 withheld already. 2 hours of my life I can't get back
