Slowly the wheels of progress turn.....

Duncan, A. D. PNAM - 2003 checking in.
<g>

Last week, I finally got a very warm and encouraging email response regarding AI at XYZ . It turns out they have a new national VP of AI at XYZ national and she's been transitioning into her new position over the past couple of months.

Tonite I gave her a call and we chatted for a bit. We talked about how long XYZ has been dong AI, how many are done per year, etc. Evidently, this is talked about quite a bit at their national convention and is really catching on. We also got to gab about our respective experiences w/ collegiate life and rush and how the AI process is soooooo much better. <GGG> I was even able to tell her about things I learned from the internet before approaching them--like the fact that some GLOs encourage AI strongly, some are not involved at all, etc. (So, the entire gang of "Gamma Chi" and especially CutiePie2000 deserves a round of applause for making that info so readily available here!!!)

Anywho, phone calls are being made. I'll find out in the next week or two when the local alumnae chapter will be contacting me, then it's a matter of sitting and "getting to know you" before anyone decides to send paperwork to XYZ national.

I'll say it again and again until it changes: nothing is guaranteed. I hope this works out but it may or may not, it's still too early to tell. But I'm not looking this gift horse (positive contact) in the mouth!

One more time--Happy New Year, gang!
Adrienne

Yea, Adrienne! That's great! I am also patiently waiting to meet some of the local alums. I have a sponsor, so one of the hardest tasks has been done. I think the holidays always slow things down some for everyone.

Yay, Adrienne! It certainly sounds like your phone call went well, and how lucky are we (and the rest of the PNAMs) that some organizations are open to Alum initiation?
