Bylaws, a question

Hey there,
Beta Epsilon Chapter President speaking. Our chapter wants to get bylaws of another SIgma Alpha chapter, we just want more ideas to work with so not to re-invent the wheel. My email is agling4ever@yahoo.com.

So, one question: how big is your chapter and how do you handle attendance rules?

Thanks a bunchos!

Ling

So, we have ~25 active sisters currently, and we're revamping our bylaws as well.
About a year ago, we started a system of fines. For unexcused absences the fines are:
meetings - $5
events - $10
activation/initiation - $25 (I think, no one misses these, so we don't need to use it)
Attendance is taken by the secretary (naturally).
The treasurer keeps track of the fines, and announces them during our weekly meeting.

BUT, we also have a system of incentives called Super Sisterhood points. The Sunshine/Sisterhood/Social committee hands out points for attendance and participation in events, especially optional ones, as well as any kind of extra effort a sister puts in. At the end of the month, the committee picks the Super Sister of the month, and makes them a cute certificate or something. It's cutesy and fun, and doesn't involve a lot of extra time, as long as you keep attendance sheets for each month.
