Not really a whole story, because I didn't do it, but I got the whole exciting story each evening.
My daughter just finished rush at Michigan State, and she loved every minute of it! She went in with a completely open mind, although there was one house she expected to like.
I couldn't give her much advice, having not done this myself, so I educated myself and found this forum. So much good, helpful info!
Anyway, it turned out that the house she expected to like didn't excite her as much as she thought it would, and another jumped to the top of her list after the first philanthropy day.
That house remained her favorite throughout the rest of the process, and she ranked it #1 as of last night.
Today, she got her bid. It was a perfect match and she is extremely excited.
My daughter seems to have had the perfect rush experience! I know it's not like that for everyone, but I'm glad (and relieved) that she didn't get her heart broken.
Michigan State seems to really have a good process, and she really thought the Rho Gammas were helpful, informative, and positive.
She was able to go to bid day knowing she'd be extremely happy with any of the three houses on her preference list.
