Ah - we're so antiquated.... the juniors/seniors not going into quota was in effect until eh 2002 so if they got rid of it, it certainly returned later.

I remember hearing one "house" that had an ice sculpture just for their foyer for pref circa 1997. Also the panhel preview sounds an awful lot like todays "meet the greeks". "each chapter can only have 6 sisters, one composite, 3 trophies and an assortment of blah blah blah fresh flowers and candles are not permitted, no food is to be served. Mints count as food." HAHAHAHAHA! I had to laugh at that last line this year!

Honey - I know who a few of your chapters are but I can't figure out a couple of them!

Also and on a side note - will you be at recruitment this year honey?

Okay, I'm confused... why does everyone keep referring to the 80's? KD recolonized in 1978 or 1979 (having a brain fart right now). Sigma Sigma Sigma recolonized like the year after. Both have been on campus ever since. When did we get to the 80's? Did I miss something?

I stated pre-mid 1980's, which probably confused people. Pitt did a frills rush until around then (I forget the year).

B-Day!

We had to fill out our pledge cards by noon, so of course I put it off until 11:30. I had known all along that I really wanted one of the two, but the second was so close, I started to have second thoughts. Meg was wiser - she just burst into tears and sobbed!

After much angst, I finally ranked my card:
Garnets
Rubies

I turned it into the Greek Advisor and left as quickly as possible!

We were to go home, and if we did NOT get a bid, we would receive a phone call between 6pm and 7pm. How I got through that day, I'll never know!

***

I don't think I mentioned that I was commuting at the time - remember, I started college at 16, and planning to transfer after my freshman year! I was home, scared to death when anyone even got near any of the phones.

The phone rang, and my mother answered. It was the Greek Advisor!

Is it bad that I read this and went "YAY! She'll rush again and I'll get descriptions of more prefs!" ? But only because we already know it ends well!
