And here is my local sorority's badge. It's silver, with an amethyst (Sigma Iota Phi's jewel) in the center of the letter phi.

Can I ask where you got the guard for the second badge? Am I correct in thinking there's an owl on there?

Paging thetygerlily and all BT afficionados!

Is this a thread that would be suitable for the History forum?

I think you could make a case for either side. If people understood that Vintage pins belong in the History Forum, and new ones here, it would help a LOT!

The chapter got guards for all of us at one point. It's an alpha (since we were a local, we were by definition the Alpha chapter) superimposed on a torch.

Each pin has it's own chain. I organized the dangles based on the guard - I held the offices in college, was a charter member as an alumna, and the sword is an award so it gets no dangles. I have a bubble guard on the stem to keep the chains in place.

I remember when I was working in Arizona (and visiting with the AZ Badge Contongent *waves*) my mom asked me which time zone I was in so she knew when to call me - I responded, "I have no effing clue!"

Yowza! That is a beauty - I did not realize Pi Beta Phi had silver (white gold) badges - where on earth did you see this?

That was my first thought, but doesn't look like their badge, unless it was some kind of special recognition pin. Note the "A" -- for Advisor, maybe?
