I echo your sentiments about Julia, shadocat. I'd also like to add......Julia, please honey. You are in college. Lay off the "porn star" makeup. It just isn't flattering.

-chideltjen, I think you're right. Brooke bitched about the room, bitched about this, bitched about that. You can leave anytime you want - oops! But the cameras wouldn't follow you then would they!
-That not accepting her transfer credits thing is BS. The whole point of deferred rush is to see whether you can handle college life in general - if she has a decent GPA from another college I would think that's been proven.
-Talia's remark about a pledge class they can control also seems like it's been blown way out of context. I think what she means is that they only have 14 sisters and don't want so many pledges that they will be overwhelmed. If you've ever been in a smaller chapter you understand what she means.

Okay, so DZO wasn't hazing the Rushee's at Rush.
But I don't know how welcomed I would feel after they played that joke on me! We always got dressed up, and brought balloons and irises (our sorority flower) to women who were extended a bid. I thought it was a bit classless how they handled it...
And some of those girls did not seem happy to be getting a bid AT ALL.
Don't even get me started on fraternity life.
I watched thsi with a GDI friend and after we watched both shows she was like, "God, I would NEVER join a sorority!"
I'm not impressed wtih DZO at all.
...in my humble opinion.

No way in hell I would have hauled my butt to their house at 1 in the morning to be questioned some more! I think this is only indicative of what's to come...

Okay.. I am actually watching this season... I think I saw bits here-and-there of SL1. This is a big deal for me.. I do not watch reality shows...
If I am going to watch this.. I need to understand.. and I am a little lost (I am okay with FL1.. I am following along)...
BUT... there were 10 bids handed out last night. The girl Erin could not pledge d/t grades/hours... Did six or eight ladies move into the house... where was the PNM Sarah (the brunette)?

The house-dwellers are Nicole, Brooke, Julia, Carissa, Mackenzie and Maggie.

Six girls moved into the house: Brooke, Nicole, Maggie, Mackenzie, Karissa & Julia. Minus Erin (who never received a bid), that leaves the house 6 + 3 others (Sarah, Brittany, Melissa) , for a total pledge class of 9.
My recap should be up later today!

I watched this last week. My roomate is obsessed with the show.
He was in SAE at ECU.
What I don't understand is this: If you're going to put sorority chicks on TV and you want the ratings to be high.....Why on earth would you put sorority chicks on that are fat, have bad blemishes and are b!tchy? To top it all off, you have some on there that so disgusting that they shouldn't even be allowed in a GLO.
It's like they took the ugliest girls on campus and put them in a sorority so they all feel good about themselves, while putting a few in there that might pass as ok on a drunk night, inorder to give them a sense of security while away from their parents who think they're just the most adorable thing in the world.
I just don't understand it all.
Whatever happen to them putting DG on there from Ole Miss?

If you are so concerned with only seeing hot chicks on tv I suggest you limit your viewing to Baywatch and The Man Show.
I thought most of those girls were cute!

I think that was Cribs, not Sorority Life. Look on the MTV webpage & see if it says anything about it.

I couldn't agree with you more! A sororoity is supposed to have a close sisterhood but by the way they handed out their bdis was really mean! And as the one pledge said it was really late 1:30 2am when they were handing them out, a real invasion of privacy if you ask me! So i wasn't impressed at all but I'm still curious about the show so I'll keep watching.

That was Cribs...DG decided not to do it because they weren't sure what MTV really had in mind.

Re: Season 2 better already
I also liked this season better than the first one for the same exact reason - DZO is in charge and are not scared of the pledges.
I think DZO operates the interview/rush process similiar to a job interview. In a job interview, the interviewee is trying to impress the interviewer.
The only thing I wished DZO had done was to setup the interview process like the Fraternity Life did so the entire chapter can see the interview.

I didn't think any of the DZO sisters were snobby or stuck-up. I guess I can relate because of the fact that I had to humble myself when I was a prospective. But each organiztion is different and each one has it's own personality.
I think this is a lot better than the first season in the fact that in the first season, I couldn't tell who was the Big Sister and who was the pledgee!!!! They did not show any respect to their Big Sisters. I forget the one who dropped out (blondie) but I remember an episode where she told the big sisters to F*&% off!!! I was like, WHOOOAAA!! I would not live to tell that story if I would have done that while online!!!! I don't know, I guess it's a respect thing for me. I also like how in the fraternity show, the president tells the pledgees, "If you're early you're on time, if you're on time you're late and if you're late don't bother showin' up!!!!" That's what I'm talking about, people have to understand that none of the bids are guaranteed!!!! (Nice to see the DZO president make note of that at their ice cream social)
