I don't know the name, but I'll venture a guess that the victims were Marie Antoinette and King Louis XVI.

Joseph-Ignace Guillotin
inventor of the Guillotine, the purpose of which was to make royalty's deaths more clean and painless.

Previous to the guillotine execution was carried out via ax or sword and if you had an unskilled executioner (or one who slipped) well.. it could take a few tries. This was clearly an undignified way for kings and queens and dukes etc to die so the guillotine was invented.

/Of course the poor could still hang

No, Jack killed prostitutes and his identity was never determined for certain.

Before it said he plotted the deaths and now it says he kills with his bare hands.
I want to say it's someone famous for smashing ants but I don't know of anyone like that (the royalty comment made me think that, Ants have queens...)
