Post Some Advice

Ok, first of all I want to apologize because I know this should be posted in the chit chat forum, but for some reason it won't post it so I will just write it here. Ok, here's my problem~my boyfriend is five years older than me and i'm just 19 so I don't know how to tell my parents(I'm not sure if they will freak out about that.) And I know you guys don't know my parents but I was wondering if you have been in a similar situation or how you think your parents would react. I'm not sure what to do. Thanks for any help.

First of all, you can't post to the chit chat forum because you aren't registered.

I've been in that same situation many times now. When I was 18, I dated a 24 year old...in fact, I almost married him! My parents were totally supportive and glad I found a mature person to settle down with.

After we separated, I dated a lot of people, usually a year or two within my age range, but one a year younger (oh my, what a mistake!) and one who is 28! (I'm now 21) My philosophy and that of my parents is that age doesn't matter (well, if you're dating a 50 year old, that might be different) as long as you care about each other, don't depend on each other solely (sp?)to provide for you monetarily or emotionally, and you have similar levels of maturity, whether it's that of a 30 year old or a 15 year old.

Don't worry, honey, and good luck!
