I know we have that revised new member program starting in the fall...sounds like fun. Have you guys heard much about it?
I know there is a mandatory retreat
10 week long program
new members can no longer attend meetings
mandatory study hours
and they get way cute planners : )
That's all I've heard though...does anyone have the details?
My sisters and I were talking about this just before this past semester ended. Basically, all I heard was what you mentioned above, so you probably know more than I do! I think it sounds like a really great idea, because when I was a pledge we weren't required to do much (because of hazing and all that crap) and I really would've liked to have a "structured" pledge program. What do you think?

So happy to see this taking effect...
It seems like National is trying to get back to the old pledge program, which is what I went through in 1993. In fact, I was the last real "pledge class" before it became the "new member program". I loved the old program, and I think that I learned a lot more about Delta Zeta than the girls who came in after me under the new system. I'm really glad that they're getting back to the old ways. I think that it will be a very positive thing for future new members -- not to mention the sorority as a whole.
Sorry to crash, but I really hope that this works out, and if it does, please spread the love. I hate how everyone's pledge programs have gotten so diluted that it's more like going to a self-help workshop than joining a sorority.
OK, end of mini-rant.
