I think that the detailed recruitment schedule said that member list would go to university relations at 12:30. I'm hoping that means the list will be posted then.

Bear's wife was a Kappa Delta. The Alpha Gam must be another great-grandmother.

Eeh, sorry, I asked about this here two years ago to be sure, and it was told that Mary Harmon Bryant (nee' Black) was "YES!" an Alpha Gamma Delta at THE University of Alabama.

Right, I remember last year a bunch of people waited around all day on Bid Day for the publishing of the list, and it didn't come until Monday!

Good to know. I wasn't going to wait around all day, but I was trying to make sure I knew where it would be posted, just in case.

It could well be that they don't want to post the list until they know if all those given a bid accepted.

My Daughter is at Alabama now and I graduated from there many years ago. Bear Bryants wife Mary Harmon was indeed an Alpha Gam. Saban did go through rush. My neighbors daughter was in her rho chi group. Have not heard where she pledged yet.

Yes, and their granddaughters, Stella Gray Bryant and Mae Martin Bryant, pledged back in the mid-'80s.

That could be wise, but on the other hand, the PNMs signed bid cards.
I think a 24 hour wait is probably good in case groups can pick up some snaps, etc. Then everyone looks as if she was in the pledge class from the beginning.

How bout' that! I remember a cute picture in a book about the Bear with Mae Martin when she was a little girl placing a Houndstooth hat on a smiling Grandad's head when he was with (if I remember right) the New York Jets' owner at the time right when the Bear started wearing Houndstooth's! Before then, I think he wore Brown Fedora's on the sideline!

I concede!
I knew a couple here in town (since deceased) who double-dated with the Bryants and were good friends...she was a KD. I guess I assumed....

I think if there were snaps, they're already done. There are always girls on a list here and there who are no shows.
I think the REAL reason is the University Relations office doesn't come in until Monday morning!
