Kappa philanthropies

hey--

I was just wondering what Kappas at other schools do as their philanthropy?

Our philanthropy is Habitat for Humanity and to raise money we hold a volleyball tournament (called "Kappatat") between the fraternities that sign up to participate. There are 2 or more kappa coaches (or maybe Kappa Koaches hehe ) per team and each day (the tournament goes for 3-4 days) the coaches are responsible for bringing goodie bags or cookies or something for their team. We get coaches tee shirts and the participants get "Kappatat" tee shirts also.

Does anybody do a philanthropy that is a whole week...kinda like KD shamrock project or DG anchor splash? Just wondering...I love participating in the philanthropies

At Convention, KKG's first National Philanthropy was revealed:

R.I.F.: Reading is Fundamental

Founded in 1966, RIF is the oldest and largest children's and family nonprofit literacy organization in the United States. RIF programs annually serve 5.1 million children of all ages, most of whom are at risk of educational failure, with a focus on those from birth to age 11.

You can learn more about R.I.F. at www.rif.org.

So exciting!

We host a spaghetti dinner, KAPPASTA, at our house. We invite the whole campus over for an all you can eat spaghetti, breadsticks, drinks and dessert. We also have a DJ play music. All of the stuff used for the dinner is donated by local stores and restaurants (including plates, cups, and cutlery). We also accept donations. This year we raised over $7,800. If you have any questions, let me know
