Volunteers?
Is anyone here a volunteer? Who here has recently submitted a Volunteer Interest Form?

I am
I am, I am....
Actually, I believe there are quite a few volunteers on GC. I've been a volunteer since the year after I graduated (which, now seems so incredibly long ago) so I haven't recently filled out an interest form.

I just graduated and filled out the Volunteer form. I downloaded it from the website and sent it back to my Member Services Coordinator. She told me that I should find out some time this summer where I'm needed.
I'm excited to be able to help out as an alumna (This shouldn't be too surprising to those that know me!) I just hope that they can use me somewhere.

Volunteer Opportunities on the Website!
Wow! They've now updated the website so you can see what vounteer opportunities are available in your area. Just follow this link, find your district, and wahlah! A list of all the opportunities!!! I'm so happy they did this. Now the problem is finding more time....

I just filled out one for recruitment volunteer. Does anyone know how long it takes them to get back to you on this?

It depends. It took them a while to initially contact me, but there has been a position change since then. Erin (the new girl) contacted me to have me resubmit my form (same day I started this thread). At that time she told me she that she had hoped to have all the volunteers placed by early September. Soooo, you should probably be contacted soon!
Just as a point of reference, I haven't been contacted yet. But it's not September yet, either.
It took them exactly 3 weeks to get back to me regarding information on the Greensboro College colonization. So, that's pretty quick (I think, anyways. They're generally pretty busy up there and I try not to bother them.). Normally, when I send an email, I get a response immediately, even if it's just to say that an answer will be forthcoming.
AlphaXiLuckyMe, have you found out in what area you'll be volunteering yet?

Specialists
The recruitment specialist are contacted by one of four people - the Support Team Leader or one of the directors. We have so many chapters in the middle of recruitment that I am sure they are snowed under right now. Although you could get contacted sooner, don't get discouraged if it takes a little longer than normal. They are likely on the road, living in hotels or chapter houses and will play catch up once the heart of recruitment is over.
It's so great to hear of so many that want to give back! It's an awesome experience.

I was notified the other day that I am a member of the PR Support Team and will be working with the chapters at FAU and FIU.
I still do want to get involved with Recruitment though, but any volunteering is great!

PR is great!
The great part about PR is that you'll get to be involved in everything from philanthropy (advertising, press releases, etc) and recruitment (getting the word out about COR events, tshirt slogans and all) to creating overall marketing campaigns.

I'm very excited to get started. Any input from other PR volunteers would be helpful!

I haven't been placed yet. But then again, I've taken on quite a bit more since I sent in my info, so it might be better to give someone else the opportunity.

I just got "officially" placed yesterday. I knew I would be working with FAU because of the damage they sustained from the hurricane was right in the middle of recruitment.
