Post Int'l Links? Greekweeks in Germany?

Hi there,

I am a German student who's really missing Greekweeks & more in Germany.
Anyone here who knows sites with pics & more on Greekweek or Freshmen-Parties?
Are there maybe US-colleges in Germany with such events either?
I beg your pardon! But I am really keen on making such experiences, I read so much about. Yours,
Marky

Marky, there are several Greek Weeks in the USA. My Chapter of LXA has Western Week, this is used for fund raising. Sigma Chi has Derby Day. Some of the LXA Chapters do a Watermelon Fest also a charity event. My Chapter also does a 72 Hour hot-tub-a-thon for charity. Most of the colleges have a Greek Week where all Greeks compete against each other for prizes and awards.
LXA also does a National Food Drive and givesw thousands of tons of food to the needy organizations.
I am sure that there are poor people who could use food in your country like all the others.
hope this gave you some ideas!
Good luck in your endevors!

Red face

Hi Tom!

Thanks for your detailed reply. Good intentions and we do have these things in Germany either.
But, sorry:
I tried to mention something totally different. I meant things like freshmen's week, initiation rituals, "hellweek", whatever you call it. I am still uncertain on your terminology in frats & sororities...
What's your response now to me?

Thanks & Bye
Mark

I think some fraternities and sororities do have chapters at American Universities with satellite campuses overseas.

For example, there is a University of Maryland in Mannheim, Germany and I believe that they have a Tri Sigma chapter or colony there. Presumably, other Greek groups have a presence there as well.

Hope that this helps!

Marky, I am sorry, but I never divulge any of my Fraternity secrets whether is about the Associate Member ceremony or ritual. We do not have a "Hell Week"!!!!!
We prepare our Associates for the up and coming Initiation to the Brother Hood.
Yes they have to learn the names of the Original founders of the Local that i started and about the history of the local and the International.
They sit in on all of the meetings but have no voting rights until they are Full Brothers.
That is all I can and will give you as I hold My Fraternity very close to my heart!
