Re: the Dyer...those are diamonds. It's 14K white and yellow gold. There is no engraving. It is in a very good place. <<<vbg>>> No idea of the age.

Oh my gosh it's lovely. Glad to know it has a good home.

Az, can you give a date range of the Diamond Dyer based on the clasp and the time Dyer made Theta badges?

Best guess - sometime before 1950. Haven't seen any Dyers with knuckle clasps so that isn't much help. I have another Dyer that is white gold and yellow gold. Talked with our Staff Archivist and apparently (from what she told me) there aren't too many with the white & yellow gold combo. IIRC there aren't any at HQ (yet). But I could be wrong about that. So don't quote it as gospel!

Me, too! DH just doesn't give it the proper respect!
That Theta Badge is definitely swoon-worthy!

Oh, I'm glad you got that one. I saw it and said "Wow!"
One of these days I'm going to get a KD pin in diamond and white gold.

I saw this on that site and thought of all you DG sisters! The rope around the anchor is very cool. And this pin seems to be from the late 1800s!

Very cool!
The garnets are interesting because they are different sizes. i wonder if they were locally mined to the maker?

That type of jewelry is called Bohemian Garnet Jewelry. It was probably made in Europe about 100+ years ago..

This is on that "site" as well..I thought it was very interesting. The seller says it is from Yale. The Latin phrase on there means "not to be broken". It's from either 1820s or 1860s-1870s.
