BBelleADPi- any idea who the designer is? From the back, the dress looks very similar to what I want.
I'm still debating about having one made over here or just shopping Stateside. My mom is guilt tripping me over her not being able to go dress shopping, but I really think it would be cheaper and easier if I just get one made. I already have a dress, in black, that I would like to copy basically- just add in a longer train and put it in white and its exactly what I'm picturing in my head.

One of my good friends is PR for a designer who is trying to break into bridal. She had her inaugural fashion show today, and so far so good. The dresses start at $2,500, which I guess is expensive for most places, but not so much here. They were okay--very couture.

$2,500 is really a bargain in the grand scheme of bridal gowns (particularly couture ones).

I don't, but I can find out. The detailing on this dress, front and back, was just exquisite. I'll post again when I find out!

I guess. I'm not that concerned with the price of bridal gowns (or anything related to weddings, really) since I'm not engaged yet, but I've been buying gowns for white-tie events lately, and $2,500 for a ballgown isn't crazy high for NYC, but I could see it being expensive for anywhere else in the country.

Last week, I saw the rerun of ER from the first season, when Carol Hathaway decides not to marry Tag. I couldn't help but think that both her wedding dress and the bridesmaids' dresses were classics. I wish I could find a picture of them!

Not the SNOW WHITE SLEEVE! My mom wore a bridesmaid dress just like that back in the day and that's what she calls it, lol.

My brother's friend's wife wore a dress similar to that. It looks beautiful and classy on her.

Do women ever worry about being on the rag and blood staining their white wedding dress?

I would but that's why birth control is such a lovely thing! You can just use it to skip your period. That or you can have a Sixteen Candles moment...
