At most of the UCs and CSUs being a junior or a transfer student isn't a big issue, but your age (e.g. if you are 22 or older) or the number of years since you graduated from HS (more than 3) *might* be factors that *could* limit your options. Then again, slightly older Pnms sometimes have more in common with the members they meet than an 18 year old fresh from HS so that can be in your favor. If you are transferring in, you already have at least 60 units completed, right? So if you think you want to try Greek life, don't wait for Winter or Spring quarter. but be open minded about all chapters, they all have plenty to offer you!
I think Cal Poly SLO is one of the few schools where the men outnumbered the women until pretty recently, and there have been several new sorority chapters chartered there in the past few years so it's seems like their Panhellenic life is on fire!
