It's that time again...

Hey Brothers,

Are any of you going to be in Atlanta this year for the cookout? I am debating to go if my time allows it to happen and I would love to fellowship with old and new brothers.

Also, who's attending Convention in CA?

Hope you all are having a great day!

-Cynthia

Um, I'm from an Atlanta chapter, and was very active in college, and this is the first I've ever heard of a cookout. Of course at Emory most brothers were from out of state and we went back to our respective far-flung locations during the summers...

In short:

The Atlanta cookout has been for the Chapters from HBCUs...

See http://cookoutweekend.tripod.com/History.html for a history from 2003, though I *think* that women brothers from chapters at HBCUs now attend...

Cool! Seems like I'd be an oddball as a Black female brother from a majority White school/chapter.

@thewasher418, I am a Black female from FSU and been once years ago so I understand. I didn't know what it was until I hung around brothers from FAMU. I think now I am setting my eyes on California and whatnot.
