I bought my loupe at http://www.nilecorp.com/ . Look under jewelry tools. This site also sells velvet pads, display trays, etc. I bought a 10x loupe for $10.00 that works well for me even now that I use reading glasses.

So, I thought posting current auction info was taboo?

Well... pkt, you didn't post a link, or any identifying info (unlike what a certain poster has done in the past), and there IS more than one auction site (like that poster doesn't know that already). pkt, you can delete your post and re-post it after the auction ends, if you wish. I myself am totally gobsmacked with the engraving, and want to know the dimensions of that piece.

If you want to see something wild, check this out! Thanks to my friend for finding it for me, and thought it was good to share with you guys. I can't even imagine the cost...

I kinda am of the mind in thinking if you do not post anything about it being currently on auction and the photos have no identifying seller marks, then I see no issue with it.

Unrelated, look at this FIJI pin from 1896!

I've purchased them from ebay, as well as Amazon. My main loupe is double sided- one 10x, one 30x. I don't use the 30x side often but it's there if I need it! 10x should be fine for most things.

I agree with Leslie Anne that you should be able to get a perfectly serviceable loupe for $10 or less. I think my double ended one was around $5, but that was close to 10 years ago. Although for a splurge, I've had my eye on a BelOMO 10x loupe for a couple of years that runs $30-40. But it's been a couple of years and I still haven't bought it, so clearly my cheap one is still doing just fine!

You can post those photos now. That nice Phi Beta Kappa key was bought by a relative of the name on the key.

It was the best engraved fraternity item I've ever seen!

thetygerlily, if this isn't appropriate, say the word and I'll delete. In that vein, don't QFP me until we hear from The Boss.

CAVEAT EMPTOR. Or, if you wish: RIPOFF WARNING

There is a Theta badge currently available (not on That Site, but elsewhere) that is a small crown standard badge. Nothing special. The seller saw a Dyer go for >$900 recently, so she has priced this badge (which sells new for $260) at $595. What a bargain!

Seriously.

ETA: well the greedy seller took down the listing.

I saw that listing and was trying to figure out the reasoning for that high a price, I saw it was gone and hoped someone didn't pay that
