ASA doesn't terminate lost or left-school-early sisters. As sciencewoman said, debtors may not be in good standing, but they won't be terminated.

That's what I am thinking. The letter wasn't so much an "update your info or get terminated" as much it was a "update your payment information or get terminated".

DPhiE reporting here...I haven't heard of this happening and we had a lot of sisters seemingly drop off the face of the planet.

I am curious about the actual circumstances of person who originally posted.
Was she initiated before transfering or after?
As a former Recruitment/Membership adviser for an NPC group, these are some of the scenarios I have gone through with CIMS (change in membership status).
Many of the NPC groups have turned all the financials over to something called Omega Fi ... If this woman hasn't officially signed off on her financial commitment (as in leaving school) the chapter is paying for her as someone on the chapter roll, whether initiated or not. The chapter would like to not be doing that so she needs to give them an official answer about transferring
If she was not initiated, and this sounds more like the case, she would have received a letter notifying her that her 'pledge' is being terminated. That would be 'nationally' terminated.
If she were to remain at the same campus (believe this is standard) she is not free to join another NPC group until a year after she signed her initial bid card and/or went through New Member Service.
However, if she has transferred prior to initiation she is free to go through recruitment at her new school.
If she was initiated and transferring to a school that had her NPC chapter, then she should inquire about affiliation and become a member of that chapter. She would have to be in good standing to do so, financially and otherwise.
If she was initiated and there is no chapter at her new school, and she is in good standing, she should look into the alumnae club in the area.

Alpha Phi does not terminate lost members. A member is listed lost if her contact information is no longer accurate.

I'd say that our OP has just accepted the fact that she cannot join one NPC sorority after she's been initiated into another. Since (practically) a month has passed since her last (first and only) post, I doubt there's a need to keep contributing to this thread for her benefit. Of course, people might want to keep contributing to the list of NPCs which terminate lost sisters just for the fun of it...

Chi O won't let you get initiated if your new member dues are not paid. You just will not become active until you get the money in. And we don't terminate missing members, they are lost sisters until we find their whereabouts.

ADPi doesn't terminate membership based on a sister moving and not updating her contact information.

We have a long process to terminate a membership, as I'm sure the other NPC's do as well.

Tri Sigma doesn't terminate due to loss of contact. Just because you don't update your contact information doesn't mean they can strip you of anything. Termination is very serious, like I'm sure it is with any other group. Since the OP hasn't posted again, I'm sure that it was something else and not just forgetting to update information, if it was even that to begin with. She may just not be in good standing and not terminated. But who knows. The OP flounced and we will never know.

facetious: adjective

treating serious issues with deliberately inappropriate humour; flippant:

meant to be humorous or funny : not serious <a facetious remark>

Or, more succinctly: duh.
