I'm in London today, heading for Bristol tomorrow. Last night I had dinner in the Great Hall of the Inner Temple, my Inn of Court. It was fantastic. We were all wearing barrister's gowns over black tie. 7 pm to 745 pm Champagne in the ante room, then file into hall where we received the senior QCs and Judges, had grace in Latin and sat down to a feast. A starter of leek, asparagus and crab in jellied consumme' served with a gewurtztraminer. Then a cup of lobster bisque with a glass of dry sherry. Then fillet of vennison with chesnuts, pearl onions, and shredded vegetables cooked in Port served with oven roast potatoes and accompanied by a Pommard Epinots. Dessert was an individual tarte tatin with raspberry sauce and double cream and more champagne (Pol Roger). Then an assortment of cheeses with Cockburn's LBV port. Finally, coffee, chocolate, and cognac with cigars. Tom, they were bolivars 50 ring maduros. GREAT!
This weekend looks like a working weekend so no grand feasts but if anything interesting turns up I'll post a comment.
I'll be in London next week and then back to DC for two days and then home for a couple of weeks. More later. Damn, I could get used to this lifestyle.

Boston Chicken with cornbread and sides (Mac & Cheese, Sweet Corn and Sweet Potatoes).
Yes, I know it's been Boston Market for decades now. Old habits die hard.
