Lightbulb Need new BID DAY ideas

Hey ladies!
Im the NMC this year and I need to plan bid day. We usually go to a sister's house that has a pool and have kind of like a hawaiian theme. Well, the sister with the pool has graduated and moved, so I was thinking of trying something new. I would love to hear some ideas of what 'yall have done, so I can plan a great new bid day.

Plus, I am making the bid day shirt. I narrowed them down to two ideas: 'In 1851, we invented the sorority' and 'Class- it isn't just something you attend every day'. What do 'yall think?

Thanks for the help! (this is my first post ever! haha).

We also did a shirt that had a quote similar to yours on it. The front just has ADPi on it and the back says "because class isnt just something you attend." It's actually one of our most popular shirts!
OMG...the baywatch theme is so cute!!!!!!!! i've never heard of that one! it is so cute and simple!

ETA: if you are on myspace.....join the ADPi group....this same thread is on there w/additional ideas.

One of my favorite Bid Day shirts had our university mascot on the back with our letters running across and the words "The Two Best Choices I Ever Made!"

(Front just had Alpha Delta Pi Bid Day 19XX)

It's always nice if you change your skit/video from year to year to incorporate the theme into Bid Day.

Another year we did "I wished I may, I wished I might, I got the wish I wished last night!" And it was a drawing of Alphie wishing on a shooting star.

We did Survivor one year--- instead of "Outlast, Outwit, etc...." we used something along the lines of "Loyalty, Sisterhood, Friendship"

And you could make them fitted t-shirts tiffany blue and white and do Alpha Delta Pi Est. 1851--the deltas can wear white ribbons in their hair-- that would be very pretty!

And then of course, go patriotic with red white and blue and a star-spangled diamond---- "Alpha Delta Pi: Keeping America Beautiful Since 1851"

This sounds SO similar to my situation. I am also the NMC for next year and we have previously held our Bid Day parties at a girl's house off campus who had a pool. We also decided to do something different this year. We are going to rent a pavilion at a local park and grill out, play games, etc! We are going to play a football type game to reveal prides. It goes along with our Bid Day shirts that have the NFL logo on them and say "Alpha Delta Pi (instead of NFL) Best Recruits, try outs again next fall!" Our formal recruitment chair designed them...i love it!

(edited because I apparently can't type correctly today... )

I love both of these!
I have seen quite a few really cute sayings in various forums on GC, most of which can be switched around for any sorority (with the exception of Zeta's "If the crown fits, you must wear it." Cute!) You could do a search-bid day slogans, etc.

You can also spend your Bid Day with daytime activities at your Sorority Suite or whatever place you would hold meeting at-- getting to know you games-- dress up the room with decorations, brief talk from President and Standards to intro the key officers, as well as to talk about alpha ceremony, money due and the responsibilities of being an ADPi (being a lady and now understanding that other Greeks and the campus are watching you and how you behave as a gague of what your sorority is like!), etc. You can go to a nice dinner at a restaurant and have a pre-set menu--- something like a Hard Rock Cafe or themed restaurant. Sit in Prides and get to know each other.

I recently thought of the cutest idea for a bid day shirt (which makes me wanna be a recruitment advisor, lol).

So the front of the shirt you would have the mastercard logo but have it say "alpha delta pi" and on the back put things like (and I'm just rattling these off at the top of my head)

$25 registration fee
$50 new clothes for rush
$25 new haircut for rush

(Just obviously list some things that you would spend money on for recruitment. Obviously for the Deltas the "registration fee" might not work, but it's 10:30pm and my brain can't think of stuff right now)

Then after all this stuff that spend money on is listed, below it the shirt says (there is actually a couple ways you could say it, so I'll list them all)

"Joining alpha delta pi. priceless"
"joining the first and the finest, priceless"

(whatever)

I just thought that a shirt saying that no matter how much you spend joining adpi is worth it and priceless, would be like the cutest shirt.

And if anyone uses this idea, please just send me a shirt!!!!!!

Our Bid day was casino themed this year so our shirts had cards on the front that said ADPi (but in the greek symbols) and the back at that quote "Spades kill, Clubs close early, Hearts break, but a Diamond is forever" It worked out really well!

Last year we did a Tiffany's theme and had the shirts with a tiffany's heart on the bottom front corner and it said "Presenting our New Fall Line" then just Alpha Delta Pi in the heart.

The chapter I advise did the Tiffany theme this year, but it wasn't for their bid day shirts.
I'm not sure what next year will hold yet.

My chapter did "Lions, & Diamonds, & Bears OH MY!" for our Bid Day shirts this year, of course, our mascot is the bear so it fit pretty well but Bears could be replaced with Violets. Wizard of Oz for the win!

Let's hope you're studying and forgot that our mascot is the Lion!

I forget which Kappa chapter did this t-shirt this year. The sisters wore shirts of one color that said (in very large letters) "GO KAPPA!". The new members received t-shirts that said, "WENT KAPPA!"

I really really liked that! I just think that the Kappa shirts should have been opposite colors of blue - I don't think we could do that with azure blue & white.
