If I could send all the Chipotles in DFW to you, I would.
I hate that mess.

FYI, if you don't get Nutrition Action, turkey bacon is actually worse for you than the regular bacon (assuming you do strain your bacon). Don't ask me why - I haven't had a chance to read the full article yet.

As I said, I'm not sure why. It could be as simple as people thinking it's not as bad for you, and eating too much, or that the chemicals used to change the flavor are bad for you. Nutrition Action is a good publication, but it can also be a bit extreme.

This would be my guess. I think turkey bacon is much higher in sodium as well.
Don't know what Nutrition Action would say, but my general rule is that the real thing of any food is likely to be better for you than an alternative modified to taste like something its not. I know the real thing is going to taste better.
Mέτρον άριστον.
(If only I followed that advice. )

That's what I was going to post. I've heard that turkey bacon is worse for you because the sodium content is way higher. Eating Canadian bacon is supposed to be the best option.

KFC
Here's some interesting info on KFC that I found online. I am one of the thousands of Americans that used to think that the reason that KFC changed its name from Kentucky Fried Chicken was because it was under scrutiny from the FDA.

I never heard of the FDA thing, I just thought it was for PR reasons. Cool, I didn't know that. That sounds strange that Kentucky would do that.

I assumed it was for PR, too, silly me. Can you just imagine that amazing Think Tank: "Hey, if we trademark the word Kentucky, everyone of them Kentucky Fried Chicken stores would have to pay a tax!"
Then I started thinking how messed up the Pennsylvania Dutch aka Amish & Mennonites would be if they couldn't market with "Pennsylvania Dutch".
Which, in the long run, goes to one of my favorite truisms: never rejoice about any tax levied on anything - because the next tax might be something YOU would have to pay.
My guy & I have unofficially dubbed this the Food Porn Thread, although I'm claiming the trademark for when it spins off on its own!
