Talking News: The free enterprise system and capitalism are at work

In this week's financial news, two conservative media firms report profit up 30% (News Corp., Fox News, etc.) and the Wall Street Journal has great profits.

On the other hand, the liberal NYTimes reports a loss of $903.9 million, and McClatchey (Mpls. Star) lost $279.3 million.

The free enterprise system and capitalism are at work, with Americans voting with their money for subscriptions and advertising, and continuing to reject some liberal and biased media.

Most conservatives will openly admit Fox is biased...unfortunately most democrats swear CNN and MSNBC aren't.

MSNBC's "best" political team= Keith Olbermann (incredibly moronic ultra liberal) and Chris Matthews (more intelligent, but far from unbiased).

And.... liberal radio network Air America has continually lost money since it began in 2004. It's been in bankruptcy protection since last fall, and has just been sold. Al Franken is jumping ship.

Yeah, two things about Air America...

I really don't understand why liberals won't jump on a liberal news/opinion type station. I think it may not match the success of similar conservative programs because much of the viewpoint expressed on outlets like Air America is already being expressed in the mainstream media.

Also, while I love to see the failure of Air America, it has already created some complaints regarding conservative programming. Conservative programming is obviously more popular (well, under the false idea that CNN and MSNBC are unbiased), for example, see Rush, Neal and Bill. The downside is that it begins to appear that stations are lending themselves only to a conservative viewpoint and excluding more liberal ones. Obviously this is a result of viewer/listener demand, but many will undoubtedly claim that the current situation creates a less than level playing field.

I love NPR and I'm not particularly liberal.

But I think that there's no way people who are liberal would chose Air America over NPR. NPR is going to offer almost everything that Air America did and they did it better.

It's the Star Tribune, bubbles. You would think that being on law review would have taught you to check your cites.
