Us too! And then we frantically look through the new girls' posters to see which names are written on them right before they run out. I don't like it being done this way, I'd rather have a meeting beforehand so we at least knew!

We never knew beforehand. There was some disappointment, I suppose, when a girl announced she was pledging another group. But there was nothing like that excitement you felt when a girl you loved all through rush announced she was pledging your house! The element of anticipation and surprise was awesome! Some of my favorite sorority memories involve bid day.

On the other hand, we did know who to expect on Bid Day. It made for some really awful times, as some of the sisters who had a major rush crush would ending up sobbing the entire day. I can't help but wonder if they'd still cry so hard if they didn't know ahead of time, though.

Yep!
My last recruitment, I had a pretty big rush crush whom I ended up preffing. I knew she was pretty torn between us and her other choice so I was seriously on pins and needles all day. One of the best days of my time as a collegian was hearing her name called and seeing her run to us!
My chapter also kept Bid Day shirts a secret until Bid Day, so that was another super fun surprise. We would all get together before going over to Bid Day and our recruitment director would unveil the shirt and we'd put them on! So fun.

We did too. We pretty much had to because we went to all their dorms/houses individually and picked them up, LOL. I'm not sure how they do it there now. I cannot IMAGINE not knowing who's coming, as we really got blindsided a time or two. If everyone would have been waiting for "PNM we're so sure is pledging us that we're already fighting over who gets her as a little" only to be told at the event that we DIDN'T get her, it would have cast a pall over the proceedings, to say the very least.

Kappa Kappa Gamma at Arkansas
I can't figure out if this is the whole chapter or just the 105 NEW MEMBERS.

1st thought on 105 new members: How do you even get to really know that many people??
2nd thought: Oh the post Bid Day facebook friend requesting!!
3rd thought: What a logistical nightmare. How does a chapter plan/hold mandatory events around that many schedules? Initiation (which must take aaaallll day and night), for example... Do they maybe just have multiple ceremonies or something to suit the new members' schedules!
Soo many questions!!
