I gave mine to the Salvation Army and took the tax deduction. Every cent of it!

There's a breast cancer group that takes donated dresses, too - they resell them and the money goes to research, I think. You'd have to google them.

If you don't want to donate your dress, you can try to sell it on ebay.

I LOVE supporting hometown folks!
Ah - one more thing

The average client, Callaway said, is perhaps a bit more mature than many brides. She’s a professional woman usually, established in her career, and has “waited a little bit longer to get married.”

I read something in For Me Magazine yesterday about a place to donate your old wedding dress and they will donate 20% of the sale to the charity of your choice. I'll look it up when I get home.

Since I posted in the engagement rings thread, I figured I'd bump this up to post my dress contenders, too. We're doing both an Indian ceremony and a non-denominational ceremony (I'm not religious, but I want to wear the white dress and walk down the isle and all that jazz). Wedding saris are usually red, so I wanted to tie the red into my wedding dress. I found these from Alfred Angelo that I really like:
First choice:
Second choice:
Third choice:

I love the first one. You could have gone with the classic Maggie Sottero "Temptress"- solid red with jeweled detail. I couldn't find a pic of it
We're still bouncing around with our wedding date, thanks to health insurance issues (and the fact that our families don't get along). I got my dress months ago, Maggie Sottero "Ella":

I finally have pictures of my dress which came in a couple of weeks ago!
Front:
Back:
The only thing really different about mine is the color. This one is a little bit darker than mine... mine is more "ivory" than "champagne"!
