Unhappy Reinstatement

Hello everyone,
I participated in formal recruitment last fall at my university, which resulted in me accepting a bid from my local chapter and initiating after this. During my time in the chapter I lived at home and my parents were not happy at all that I spent so much time with my chapter as they wished for me to focus on school solely. During my second semester of school we were really busy and my mom simply snapped and forced me to withdraw my membership. I talked it over with our president and she understood. Now I'm moving out and my family rule is that if we live on our own we make our own rules and I have been saving up while not a member of my chapter. I have spoken to members of the national council and I understand the process of reinstatement and how lengthy it is and how rare it is for anyone to be reinstated. My question is, do I even have a chance? I miss my membership very much everyday and I hate that it wasn't my choice at all to withdraw. Thank you for your time.

Yes, if you left on good terms and were properly paid up (or can get paid up right now), reinstatement is a possibility. You should proceed as you were told by the national office.

Thank you, I contacted the office and they told me I need to write a letter with why I withdrew, why I want to be reinstated, and what I will do differently and then the executive council votes. The woman I spoke to also said that in the two years she had been processing reinstatement no undergraduate has ever been reinstated. Troubling odds, but I hope I still have a chance.
