Was just checking out the auction of the 1912 quill and got
around to reading the description ...

Now, I've had my quill mistaken for a toothbrush but never, ever,
has it been likened to "a plow or other farming tool" !!!

Isn't it kind of ironic when people sell things like pledge pins on eBay for $10 or more when they're available from the National website for $5?

The original listing of the pin is mispelled but it is definitely an Alpha Xi Delta badge. Diamond and pearl mix.

I see 3 - 29 - 193X (can't tell what the last number is). Plus we don't engrave our badges like that any more, do we? Isn't it done with the chapter/member number?

ETA -- I wish I had enough money to rescue pins off Ebay. Maybe one day.... At least when I have some money I will try to rescue one of the old pearled ones to use for myself!

No, they don't get engraved like that anymore at all.
From that angle, it looks to me like it's 3-29-93. But if you look HARD you can kind of see a 1 and a something (maybe 5?) before & after the 93.
Oh well, either way, it's a pretty pin!
