A lot of schools are also on pinterest and have made boards for recruitment. Try checking there as well.

In addition to Macy's / Dillards, might I suggest Stein Mart, Marshalls and TJ Maxx for less expensive items. Also for my daughter who will be going thru, we were able to order from LOFT and the item was dirt cheap. This is definitely the time of year for end of season sales. Sorry, but a dress from Target won't cut it in an SEC recruitment. .

You probably want to go with a smaller print for that first dress, and fewer colors.

There's a lot of examples of outfits in this thread:

Look at those threads and Macy's website, and you should find stuff that is in your budget.

I just did a search on the Dillard's website, for sale dresses under $50.00. There are plenty of options here. Even though the London Times dress is not on sale it is a perfect example of a recruitment dress for the SEC. Look in the woman's section also, don't just stick to the junior department.

Belk also has a lot of dresses on sale, and Nordstrom even has some decent prices on their sales dresses.

OP, If this is the school I think it is, Lilly Pulitzer is quite popular. You might find a Lilly dress in your size at Plato's Closet, or another upscale consignment shop.

Something like this would work for 2nd round with a pair of cute, flat sandals:

or this:

DDDLady's dress would be good too.

This is similar to one of your choices. It is on sale from Belk:
