If you are wearing polka dots for the blouse, you might want to avoid them for the next day. You dont want to be the "polka dot girl". I'd do one or the other. Where is ellebud?

I think this dress would look awesome on someone with darker skin, but the peach on a peach complexion just looks like you're trying awkwardly to hide in it.

what if it was a sold color but the same dress?
Also, i have a blouse that i wanted to wear and its really cute for the second day of open house. It is one solid color but, it has a little bit of print that gives it a bit of color. Im just not sure if certain types of prints are appropriate (tribal, leopard, floral), even if it just a tiny bit of it.

I'm voting no on the leopard print. There is a time and a place for everything, but it's NOT during recruitment. Think conservative and classy. When I see leopard print, it makes me think of Snooki. And that is NOT conservative or classy.

It really depends on the print. There's some tribal and floral prints that look lovely and classy, and some that just look cheap. I second the no leopard.

I think (and there are a few gals here I'd like to defer to) that rush at the LA schools is pretty fashion forward so you can take some small risks. A little animal print is pretty right now. Dress, hose, shoes, bag? Um, no. But then of course, that's always no. Never.
#1 flattering
#2 comfort
#3 style
If it's too short to bend over or sit on the floor, it's too short. If it has made the jump from stylish to trendy, it's probably jumped the shark. And if it makes you sweat or is itchy, you'll want to throw yourself off a cliff by the end of the day.
I personally think that dress on that model is ghastly, but it could work on someone else. And I know you're showing dresses that aren't an exact match of what you are planning (a wise choice) but as stated above, don't wear polka dots twice during rush. Or the same vivid color for that matter.
Best of luck. I'm thinking of stalking rush at one of the LA schools this year. I wish I could get inside one of them! I guess I have to wait a few more years...

Actually. My blouse for the first round doesn't have polka dots. It's a nice turquoise that flatters my skin tone. I like the polka dot dress but not in that particular color. I just haven't found a nice dress that I truly like and am kinda stuck on looking

I would check out Private Gallery ( http://www.shopprivategallery.com) and Francesca' ( http://www.francescascollections.com). They have super cute and (mostly) cheaply priced clothes. We wear t-shirts, but I found cute shorts and my pref dress from those stores.
