Delta Zeta Phi Chapter

Hi! My great grandmother was a DZ at Washington State University. I've been doing some research into the history and saw that the Phi chapter closed down. Does anyone on here know why? It closed in 1958 and never reopened at the University. Any info would be great, the family is very curious!

Have you contacted Delta Zeta HQ? They would probably be able to answer your question.

ETA: the closure happened more than 50 years ago, unlikely that someone here would know anything.

Closed for Numbers

Delta Zeta was Closed by National as of February 1, 1958 due to low numbers. With only 5 active sisters and 7 pledges returning for the Spring Semester of 1958, it was considered too heavy a burden to keep the house going. Decision communicated to the school and Panhellenic by Mrs. Fred T. Kelleway the National Alumnae Director.

(And yes, I'm also surprised I found this much information)
