"Dirty Rush" by 'Taylor Bell'
I love a good satire, but should I bother with this? I'm on the fence after reading reviews. My fear is that GDIs will read this and think it's an accurate representation of sorority life. Keep in mind that I loved the "Legally Blonde," "Scream 2" and "House Bunny" movies. Anyone read it?

It's interesting to me that the people who wrote reviews who claim to be sorority members actually say the book is good.
::shrugs shoulders:: I can't imagine this is going to have a negative effect on Greek life and/or change the mind of most people on what it truly is about.

Read the three free chapters. Meh. I'll skip. I'd rather read a funny sorority novel written by someone like Jen Lancaster. Maybe Ms Lancaster will do that one day. Are there any out there that aren't ridiculous?

Sorority Sisters by Claudia Welch is a pretty good read.

I read it-- and aside from the description of the main characters feelings during initiation I couldn't identify with any of the so called depiction(s) of sorority life and pledging. The drinking and drugs were out of control (and this is coming from a girl who partied her way through 4 years of school). I realize it was a satire, however I would hate for a high school girl to read it and think that this is the way sorority life actually is.
I also read Sorority Sisters by Claudia Welch- and loved it- I thought it gave a pretty accurate depiction of (at least my) sorority life.

Helen Ellis's Eating the Cheshire Cat is truly good satire.

Totally forgot about this book! It is good! I actually read it with some sorority sisters in college. We had a book club.

Just ordered that from Amazon - I am on vacation next week so I need books! It looked good from the reviews.

Wish "Eating the Cheshire Cat" was available as an ebook. Edited to add that my library has it! Yay!

I read "Sorority Sisters" and oh my! I want to marry that book. Welch is such a talented writer and all the characters were SO well written. I felt like I knew them. I felt like I lived in the house. If you haven't read. Read. It. Now.
