Chapter (not national) song
What song/s are a part of your local chapter history, the ones you hear and grin form ear to ear? Or the ones you always sing with your bros/sis'?
My chapters' are as folows:
Piano Man - Billy Joel - Historical
Cowboy Song - Thin Lizzy - Historical
Back in Black - ACDC - Historical
Friends in Low Places - Garth Brooks - Fun Group Song
You Never Even Call me by my Name - David Allen Coe - Fun Group Song
El Mariachi - Los Lobos w/Antonio Banderas from Desperado (one from the beginning of the movie) - Fun Group Song, entirely in Spanish and must be memorized by everone
Gotta love it. I grin just thinking about them. Ima gonna have to go find my chapter CD now and go for a listen.

hmmm . . . we didn't have a song to go with our history, but we ALWAYS sang to "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights" by Meatloaf and we played it at every party and requested it at bars and stuff, we also did "Come on Eileen" because one of our members was named Eileen.

Hee hee...good topic! I'd have to say the songs that remind me of our sorority are:
"Girls just wanna have fun"...our song!
"I will Survive"....always played when a sister breaks up with her man and we sing it at the top of our lungs.

Ours was "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" - I swear, I could sing the thing in my sleep.
Some of the other fraternities' & sororities' local songs were Joy to the World, Come Sail Away and that Wild Women Do song from Pretty Woman (yeucccccccchhhhhh!).
The best however was a night out when 3 of my sisters & I were the only females left at the bar and the "football frat" sang "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" to us - just like in Top Gun!! That still makes me smile every time I think about it.

Songs that will always remind me of the great times my sisters and I had in college include:
- American Pie
- That's What Friends are For (when we were having sappy moments at the end of mixers)
- Easy Lover (our version was "DZ Lover" of course!)
- Copacabana (no explanation for this one, really!)

It's not a chapter song, but my pledge class will never forget the words to "I Knew You Were Waiting For Me" by George Michael and I think it's Aretha Franklin. All it takes is one weekend bonding experience to make a stupid 80's song a memory.

We scream in excitement when Brown Eyed Girl comes on at a school dance...we changed the lyrics to Chi-O Girl.
Another one is Vanilla Ice's ICE ICE BABY. Don't ask...that's another one we changed and it is Chi-O Cuties instead of Ice Ice Baby.
Otherwise Sisters Care by local group Mulberry Lane is OUR song.

"Always Be Together" from "Grease"
"Hard Knock Life" from "Annie"
"Only the Good Die Young" by Billy Joel
We wrote our pledge class songs to the first two, our installation song to the last one! They rock!

To add to Sister Plum.....every pledge class is asked to find their "theme song". But since this started AFTER the first two classes...our (mostly forgotten) theme song is "Viva Forever" by yep, the Spice Girls

"Paradise by the Dashboard Lights" by Meatloaf - this was played at all the dances- did you all have one guy stand in the middle of the circle to sing to?
At the bars- always American Pie!
