NPC Growth

In 2012, AST initiated its 50,000th member. I just learned that this year, we initiated our 60,000th member.

In other words, that's 50,000 sisters over 113 years, and 10,000 more in just 5 years.

We must be doing something right!

I'd be curious to know what these numbers look like for other NPC groups with the huge increases in total recruitment registrations and the large number of chapters opening in recent years.

The Alpha Sigma Alpha national website says we have 78,718 lifetime members since 1901. I don't know when that was last updated.

TPA had 20,000 back in 2008. Last number I heard was 33,000, and that was a while ago.

Kappa had initiated over 250,000 women since 1870 in 2012, and the most recent number I've seen is over 260,000.

The last number I have seen for Kappa Alpha Theta is 250,000 initiated members, but I am not sure how current that is.

Wow.. potentially doubling your membership in the last 10 years is huge!

I'm curious... Do any other sororities keep track of milestone membership numbers and the year in which they happened? The only two that I've seen widely mentioned for us are 50,000 and 60,000, so I don't know when we hit 10, 20, 30, 40.

An announcement was made when we initiated our 200,000th member, last year.

My daughter's 150th anniversary issue of the Arrow says that Pi Beta Phi has initiated "nearly 300,000 members" and 56,000 Pi Phis had been initiated by 1952.
