Oh, my absolute favorite was the KKG Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Song:

We are Kappa Kappa Gamma
Kappa Kappa Gamma girls are we
We know everywhere we go we'll
always see the letters KKG

[Watermelon watermelon -- can't remember the middle words]

We are Kappa Kappa Gamma
We're sisters to the end
We are Kappa Kappa Gamma
We're sisters to the
[Kappa Gamma, Kappa Gamma]
End

Twenty years later and I still sing it.

And my favorite goodbye song is Alpha Xi's, to the Oscar Mayer bologna tune:

My sorority has a first name
It's A-L-P-H-A
My sorority has a last name
It's D-E-L-T-A
The middle name is hard you see
It's spelled X-I, pronounced Ka-zee
A-L-P-H-A-X-I
D-E-L-T-A, goodbye!

The whole Chitty Chitty Bang Bang song goes:

We are Kappa Kappa Gamma!
Kappa Kappa Gamma girls are we!
We know everywhere we go
We'll always wear the letters KKG!
High, low, everywhere we go
On Kappa Gamma we'll depend
For we are Kappa Kappa Gamma,
We're sisters 'til the end!
We are Kappa Kappa Gamma,
We're sisters 'til the--
Kappa Kappa Gamma,
Kappa Kappa Gamma,
Sisters 'til the Kappa Kappa end!

Most people say "zee" as the pronunciation for Xi (me, for one), although I'm sure a Greek scholar would tell you that properly it is "kzee." So "ka-zee" is basically just saying that really slowly and drawn out.

It's also a southern drawl thing (correct me if I'm wrong here). But...

In Kappa, our BX Chapter is at UTA in Texas and our DX Chapter is at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. The CMU girls pronounce it "ZEE," but the Southerners all pronounce theirs "ka-ZEE." The funniest thing is that when reading a list of chapters during Convention, one of our Midwestern Field Representatives who has a neutral bias called the CMU chapter "Delta ZEE" and the UTA chapter "Beta ka-ZEE." Guess she got corrected a time or three when she was down there.

Who really are amazing
With our crescent and pearls
We are true hearted girls
(can't remember the last line..ugh)

The last line is this:

"and after we're gone, you'll remember our song. We're the... " and everyone joins in the "Gam-ma Phi Be-ta" part.

I don't really remember the words to some of the rush cheers, but one that I always thought was cool was one of Kappas... I can't remember what they say, but they did this cute clapping thing... Oh well.

And i don't remember the cheer either for this one, but it scared me to death to go into the rush room for the first party of Round 1 my freshman year... Pi Phi was pounding on the windows from inside the rush room before us new girls came in... so freaky... they still do it (no offense- it just really scared me because it came out of no where!)

My all time favorite rush song is in my signature, but my other favorite... Two groups of girls sing it... the first sings a line, then the second group repeats it, and so on until the end of each verse... then everyone sings it fast and claps before going on to the next verse...

The cutest girl
I ever saw
Was a Riverside GA-
MMA Phi Beta

Some years ago
When I was new
I went through rush
I was just like you

And then I pledged
My sorority dear
It brought me love
And lots of cheer

The moral of
The story's clear
It's sisterhood
That's found right here

GAMMA PHI!

We had a round that went...

I AM A D
I AM A Z
I AM A D-E-L-T-A-Z-E-T-A
AND I WILL L-O-V-E LOVE MY S-I-S-T-E-R-S
WE'LL BE TOGETHER F-O-R-E-V-E-R-M-O-R-E

Over and over and over again until it rings in your head for days!

Here's one I taught my daughters...

By the light of the Lamp
By the light of the Lamp
By the bright, shiny light
By the light of the Lamp
If you wanna be a DZ just come along with me
By the bright, shiny light of the Lamp
Yee Ha!

I can always recall the continuous rounds of:
Gam-ma Phi Beta
Gam-ma Phi Beta....

and also,
Zet-a, Zet-a,
Zeta Zeta Z-T-A!

And of course....
Alpha Xi Delta is so glad you came,
We hope tomorrow you'll be back again.
Remember this song where-ever you may be
We hope you'll be an Alpha X!

Kind of funny that so many groups are singing the I'm ____born and bred song.
That is the University of Oklahoma's Fight Song!

The AXO girls at my school did a rewording of the Jimmy Buffett song "I Don't Know"...

I don't know,
I don't know,
I don't know where I'm-a gonna go,
but I'm thinking A Chi O!

EVERYONE sang it ALL week long and it still gets stuck in my head. There is also a Chi Omega chant I love that goes AY! AY! AY! but I don't know ANY of the words haha.

Epsilon is E
Phi in the middle, and you will see,

LOL - "Boom Boom" was one of our best-loved ADPi songs, too! One of my favorite college memories is a Tri-Delta friend singing "Boom Boom" at the Pika house, and getting her sisters really upset with her!

We also did:

Alpha, Alpha, Delta Pi
We're the best and
That's no lie
We have a sisterhood
That's really GREAT
ADPi, you sure do rate
(then we sang two parts, the second being

I want to be an ADPi girl
It's the best that I have found
I want to SHOUT throughout the campus
That ADPi's the best in town!
