Question Sorority/Fraternity Food and Drinks

I recently held a gathering in my home for some of my line sisters, and I served "AKA punch" from our undergrad days (non-alcoholic, of course). I'm curious to know if any other chapters or organizations concocted anything special for their GLO.

You do not have to provide the ingredients to anything. However, if you would live to share recipe ideas, you may want to do so by private messaging. I wouldn't want anyone to put their special recipes out there like that

I do know that during "non-alcoholic mixer night" during Greek Week one year in colleg, my fellow greeksisters of Delta Sigma Theta made a wonderful punch with sherbert. That stuff was good.

On one HBCU campus, Phi Mu Alpha (band fraternity) is famous for their Phimulade... however, it does involve soaking the ingredients in um.. various substances for days before.

Cool

I think it is safe to say that the longstanding, stellar reputation of A Phi A punch requires little explanation.

We had a non-alcoholic "AKA Punch" that was a staple at all of our events during undergrad also. Also anytime we had a cake, we went into a "Buttercream vs. Whipped Cream" icing debate. Buttercream usually won hands down.

Even today, when we get together for showers, etc., we still have the "icing debate".

At my school, most of the boys would come up with some kind of hunch punch and it would simply be punch and grain alcohol. It was scary to see what people would do after drinking some of this stuff -- I'm surprised that no one got alcohol poisoning.

Frappe is always an excellent idea. You can do all kinds of colors -- like using lime sherbet and raspberry sherbet with 7UP. It is about the combination that you use of both so that the taste will be there, but the color is really pretty. If you really want to do something special, do a virgin strawberry daquiri with cool-whip that has been mixed ever so slightly with green food coloring and a lime wedge as garnish. It's pretty and tasty and festive and yummy and mmmmmmmmm, I should get some strawberries tonight.
