I sure as hell hopes this works out better than the fiasco that was Pitt-Greensburg.
Is another local at Capital going national or is it ground up?

As noted on the official website, Alpha Phi has been chosen to colonize this fall 2011 at the University of Utah.

Phi Delta Theta has had chapters at those schools that closed or went dormant.
Different organizations use different terms. I've heard recolonization, recharter, restart, Phoenix colony, etc.

Young Harris will be interesting to watch. They only became a 4 year college in 2008. They currently have 3 local sororities and 4 local fraternities. Does anyone know if the groups are all going national?

Chi Theta Pi is trying to go national.

I didn't even realize that on the list. That seems really...weird.

Well, they already have KD and a bunch of locals so maybe they looked at all the benefits that KD had and decided to check it out?
Also, Sewanee is Episcopalian and most of the Episcopalians I know here are members of national GLOs. I think most if not all of the fraternities are national so it makes sense that daughters of national sorority alums would be interested in their moms' groups.

Yeah, but I was under the impression that KD hadn't exactly blown everything else out of the water. For only one group to do it instead of the whole system just makes me think that one either has a lot of legacies or a lot of issues. By the time these girls rush, they're familiar with what the deal there is and I would think if they want a national that badly, they'll choose another school.

KD is the only national of 9 groups. I don't know exactly what they've done but I wouldn't be surprised if the pace of nationalization picked up if this group goes national.
I've always wondered if Sewanee wouldn't permit the sororities to be national when they first started admitting women. There are schools like that...remember, at Auburn, fraternties were permitted to have houses but we weren't.

YH is looking for 2 NPC groups to join the locals on campus. No mention is made of the locals going national.

Not to mention a ton of girls from Nashville and the state of Texas that come from homes where NPC sorority women go back for generations.
