Dear Cube Neighbor,

It is going to be 90 degrees outside today. You do not need to have a space heater plugged in. Wear a sweater if you're cold. Take some iron pills. You're effing up the temp for everyone. The heater makes the AC work harder.

Love,
AmIblue

Oh, for the love of...

Would you idiot headhunters stop calling me about full-time jobs that would require me to relocate to East Buttfuck?? ALL my profiles CLEARLY indicate that I am looking for additional part-time clients and I WILL NOT RELOCATE.

Hahahaaaaaaa I would too. But that would be awkward.

She giggles a lot and her response is kind of muffled. She's definitely suffering, but I doubt she's cheating...unless she somehow fits cheating in with always fucking being here.

Hahhaa maybe when I move out, but thanks for the support. I would rather them figure out orgasm when I am no longer sleeping in a place where I can hear them through the vent.

So...ethically if we show it and have several people who are interested, is it ok to let them know there are several people interested and let them make a higher offer?
Renting is different than selling, though, and bidding wars don't typically happen. I would recommend that maybe you sort through all the applications first, get everyone checked out (charge an application fee to cover the cost of credit/background check, and GET THE CREDIT/BACKGROUND CHECK), then go from there. Or you could pull it down and then list it at a higher price, if you choose to do so.

I can guarantee you that if I saw an apartment listed for $1,200 online, went to see it, and then the landlord came back at me with "lots of other people are interested" I would say "Then I'm really not." Since I'm renting, my "feelings" about the space don't matter since I can live any place that meets my standards.

I would also suggest getting a management company to collect rent, be on call for repairs. We have used one for our old place in Atlanta. Being a long distance landlord is incredibly challenging.

Auditioning for a solo while the choir director's 3-year-old grandson runs in circles around the choir screaming was ... interesting.

I did my best. Unfortunately I'm up against another strong alto and 3 or 4 sopranos for each of the solos/duets. I know I nailed the alto line on the duet, but so did the other alto. And none of the sopranos can project. So I guess we'll see...

I see bidding wars pretty regularly. It's not the most ethical thing, but then again I live in the most competitive rental market in the country so maybe my views are a little skewed. Stuff like that may not fly in other places.

Landlords say "lots of other people are interested" all the time; brokers are even more vicious because they're working on commission.

I thought Bank of America was bad when my mortgage was sold to them, but Green Tree is unbelievable. Time to find out what recourse I have when they screw up paying my property taxes from my escrow. Arg!

To my dickface roommate...

I understand the bills are in your name, and I pay my half of them when you forward them to me. I also understand that they usually all come in at different points of the month, so I'll pay them as they come.

That said, since the bills come to you, it is your job to PROMPTLY tell me what you owe. I can't read your mind. I am not psychic when it comes to bills. But it is really disrespectful for you to not forward me the gas bill for three months, no matter how many times I ask to see it, and then suddenly demand a huge sum all at once. I'm a student like you. You wouldn't be in this situation if you let me know about the damned expenses when they came in, so don't give me crap about how you suddenly really need it right now.

(Does anyone else think this is rude and unfair?)

I could see it happening in NYC. I'd be sincerely turned off by it anywhere else.

I have my work cut out for me this weekend. In total, I have 7 lawns to cut. I've got two other dudes working for me who are cutting 4 lawns while I'm here at work, and I've got the other 3 this weekend. What's tight, is 2 of those are new contracts.
