Buffets, buffets, and more buffets. Visiting Las Vegas for Christmas. My favorite is Sam’s Town, where the locals eat.

Christmas Eve take-out dinner from the same local Chinese place our family has patronized since our daughter was small. It’s a wonderful tradition! We order cashew chicken, egg rolls and white chicken and broccoli and share.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you all!!

I'm on my own tonight, so anything healthier than the leftover desserts clogging our refrigerator could be labeled a healthy choice.

Christmas was spread out a bit in our family--part 2 is tomorrow so we are having our traditional dinner: smoked beef tenderloin, boursin mashed potatoes, baby arugula/golden beet/goat cheese salad, cheddar beef bread, broccoli, a pomegranate/cara cara orange/candied almond salad, and cranberry bread. My SIL has desserts so I have no idea what she has in store.

Thank you for the diversion of this food thread. It was a nice break from the tasks at hand. I should come back here more often for ideas...

Keeping it light for lunch with bits and pieces of leftover ham, pineapple, cheesy broccoli, cherry pie, and anything else that's been too long in refrigerated keeping from Christmas Eve and Day.

Tonight will be more light eats early with a vegetable tray, several dips, fruit ensemble (apples/oranges/bananas available in a bowl), deviled eggs and choice of soda pops/milk/eggnog/water. There is the option to stay up until midnight, but most years we turn in early then awaken when the neighbors a mile away set off their fireworks at midnight.

And as a reminder: PBS' Great Performances features the 2019 Vienna New Year's Celebration on Tuesday and Wednesday in most viewing areas.
