It's certainly inspiring. It makes me wish I could customize my badge

The second badge is Theta Upsilon, a sorority which merged into Delta Zeta in 1962.

So many beautiful badges! My Dad's local college fraternity did not have badges, so I enjoy viewing any local fraternal badges posted here.

^ I'm pretty sure I posted a picture of my local sorority's badge and pledge ring somewhere in this thread ages ago.
The local was Sigma Iota Phi. The badge was the letters set in sequence, in silver, with an amethyst (the sorority's gem) in the center of the letter phi. No doubt the badge design was based on AEPhi's badge - the founders had wanted to become a chapter of AEPhi, and this did eventually happen.
The founders decided to have a pledge ring instead of a pledge pin, because almost all GLOs have pledge / new member pins and the founders wanted to do something different. The ring was silver with an amethyst bead flanked by malachite beads. I still have both, and I occasionally wear my pledge ring.

As someone who just read through the whole thing... it is! I love your local's badge. The amethyst is so striking (and from what I recall, very cool it was made by the mother of one of your members).

I love the idea of a pledge ring, that's so much more versatile after graduation.

Last time I was wicked sick, I did my series on a different stone or organization each post or two for a while. That must have been like 4 or 5 years ago now? Hmm.... now that I'm kicking bronchitis, I may have to schedule some "rest" time to dig up some new photos to post

I remember this! Even years later I felt so bad for you as you seemed pretty sick. But the pics were great, haha!

I have both my plain gold-filled badge and an all pearl 10k gold badge. I'd like another (either singe diamond or pearl). I would love opal or ruby!!

I was happy when they added silver!! I have two badges, my original gold with pearls and my silver one with pearls. I have both mounted on the open circle and can either wear them as a necklace or as a pin.
I love our badge...I think it's one of the prettiest...but then I'm biased. :-)

My daughter is a newly initiated Alpha Gam and was going to do silver with a pearl, but then I talked her into doing 10k yellow and all pearls as it is what the vintage ones I see look like. She's very excited to eventually get her badge (we understand the wait may be a long one!). I didn't see any other stone options when she showed me, although maybe we just stopped at pearls?! I agree it's a pretty badge. We didn't have any choices when I was a collegiate.
