What does your badge look like?

This was discussed a little in another thread, but I'm giving it it's own now.

I have a pearl badge, and I just got my chapter letters guard (Eta Mu!) and ritual (marshal) dangle! I can't wait to wear it all together at chapter on Monday. Hooray!

What does your badge look like?

Mine was a sapphire-and-pearl one with enameled letters. I lost it in April of 2007. I had a recording secretary dangle. My guard was our coat of arms. I decided I wanted that instead of my chapter letters since I had to wait so long to be able to wear the coat of arms. I figured my chapter would come up in conversation anyway. The coat-of-arms guard is no longer available for the general membership but is used for LCs or GCs or some other official office.

I do have a 25-year pin now, but I do plan on replacing my badge one day.

Don't give up hope, MSKKG! We've had some amazing rescue/return stories.

My badge is sapphire/pearl, no enamel. I've rescued two badges from eBay that are both all-pearl. One is from the 1930s and you can see the difference in the quality from then to now. Some day I'd like to have an antique plain gold one, but they seem to be *just* out of my range at this time.

I've seen some Keepers' collections and they have some *gorgeous* old badges!!

I'm still hopeful, but I'm anxious to get another one. I can't decide if I want one like I had or if I'd rather get a plain gold one. I keep checking eBay but seem to get outbid every time.

Mine is a sapphire and pearl one, no enamel, with the requisite initials, chapter, and initiation date enscribed on the back. But hopefully I'll get a pearl dangle soon for a 3.8! I think that this is gonna be the semester

You bet it would . . . and it has broken mine. I can hardly think about it without getting sad.

Well, I have a collection...

My own badge, which is all sapphire. I ordered plain letters, but it came with enamel, which I've never really liked. It has my EE chapter guard, and I removed my officer dangles a couple of years ago.

Some of my other favorites, from ebay:

An all pearl badge with an EE chapter guard from the 60's. No luck in contacting the original owner after I won the auction.

An all-pearl with plain letters from the 50's, which I to which I added a tiny pearl fleur de lis pin, another ebay purchase, as a guard. (The owner was deceased.)

A plain gold with plain letters from the 30's, which has a beautiful brushed patina. (Another instance in which the owner was deceased.)

I like to wear a couple pins at once, and I always get questions. This is when I say, "This one is my pin, and this one is my Kappa public service announcement." It's a great opportunity to share the importance of badge disposition.

Here's my badge! It looks like the letters have enamel on them, but they're plain gold. The dangle is a candle for ritual (marshal), but it's kind of hard to see.

I just re-examined my badge and I just realized I have a candle instead of a gavel. Hmmm, it's only been since the mid80s that I was Marshal and I still wear my key (and H's USMA A-pin) at least once a month. I always thought it was a gavel.

My Marshal dangle is more of a sceptre for Seargeant at Arms, which was the closest thing to Marshal that was available, and what the Marshal before me had. I like this Herff-Jones "Keeper of Ritual" candle much better:
