I've said this before, but I think that Michelle either physically cannot or has been advised by her doctor not to have anymore children, and they're just keeping it quiet.

That's probably why all the adoption talk in the last season.

She's been advised by her doctor for YEARS to not have anymore children. This has not stopped her.

Maybe the Duggars should look into starting a puppy breeding business or something.

Welp, Jill had her baby. They named him Israel and Derrick is wearing an Israeli Defense Forces shirt. I thought they were Christians, name him Jesus then, but seriously, why Israel of all names.

Maybe instead of using the same letter for all of the kids' first names, maybe countries of the world is going to be their theme.

They could one-up it and only name their kids after countries that start with "I", like Iran and Iraq. Great Christian nations to name your newest blessing after

They chose Israel for its meaning, "God will prevail." A girl would have been named Sela, "Pause and Reflect."

Y'all did realize that the names would be fairly religious, did you?

I'm not shocked it's a religious name, however, the original 19 kids don't really have religious names.

I just would prefer a Christian name and not some warped Messianic Jewish name.

Joseph, John-David, Josiah, Jeremiah, Johanna, Joshua, Jedediah, James are directly from the Bible; Joy-Anna, Jordyn-Grace, and of course, Jubilee, are lesser known Biblical references. That's over half of them, and yes, I had to look up the names.

Really?
I shouldn't of said biblical that was my mistake and not what I meant.

Yes really. I have a huge issue with Messianic Judaism and I don't understand why they chose something so blatantly Jewish. It rubs me wrong. Same way that the miscarriage had the middle name of "shalom"

I'd feel the same way if they were Jewish and named their child Jesus.

Then, by all means, don't name your kid Israel! It doesn't matter one bit what your preference is for what baby name another family chooses. And some might consider it rude to call their choice "warped."

On another note, I can't believe people still follow this family. I guess I'm guilty, since I'm contributing to this thread, but I feel bad for the kids (now adults... with kids) who have to deal with all the publicity that surrounds them. If I were in Jill's shoes right now, it would be hard for me not to be bitter, I think.

The underage kids I feel terrible for but Josh, Jessa and Jill all have incredibly active social media accounts that often post controversial topics (pro-life, homosexuality, religion etc...) and they choose to be public. So for that I don't feel bad. (I feel that for any willing reality TV cast)

Plus I'm sure she got a pretty penny for selling her birth story and pictures to people.

That and the family seems to capitalize on milestone events through these "specials" on weddings, babies, who knows what else...although I'm sure as others have milestones in their lives there will be an hour long special devoted to that.

They're pretty much the hard-line Christian equivalent of the Kardashians. The (older) Duggars don't have to put their lives out there--yet they do, over and over again. Ergo, what's to feel bad about?
