Those dates are correct. I have the email Greek Life sent out in early January.
Excerpt from email:
Recruitment will be held from Sunday, September 16 – Sunday, September 23, 2012. Convocation will be on Sunday, September 16 and rounds will begin on Wednesday, September 19. Bid Day will be on Sunday, September 23.

I don't think it will change, especially since it is pretty much based on the football schedule.

Updated original post to include the information. Please let me know of any additions and/or edits and I'll make them happen to that post. MP

I wonder where the land is that OM is supposedly going to make available. Could it possibly be either the former ZTA or ADPi house? Seems as they were both on sorority row and are now converted to other university use. I suspect that any location other than Sorority Row or Rebel Drive would be a turn-off to PNMs. I've seen other campuses where sorority houses are scattered about, but not at OM. But, I haven't been there in years and don't know what may be available nearby.

Personally, I could see and would like to see both Alpha Gamma Delta and Delta Zeta pursue Ole Miss. Delta Zeta would be a recolonization (present at Ole Miss from 1928-1953). Alpha Delta Pi is recolonizing at Mississippi State University in 2013 so I do not think they would pursue it. Also, they have only been off campus for 15 years at Ole Miss.

The article mentioned the University providing land for up to THREE houses. Will Ole Miss be open to multiple chapters?

they might be watching what happens at Arkansas. At this point I would think it's too late to do a colony already this fall, so they could choose 2 or 3 stacked sororities, but bundle them (for the spring or fall 2013?) if it goes well at Arkansas. That's one of those things we just aren't going to know until we've seen it in real life. But they're definitely another school that could handle multiple expansions.

@Cheerio & @thetalady: Something now forgotten is that the Union Army led by General Sherman burned Oxford to the ground. The only places left were used to house the Union Troops and the University. Many of those surviving places were of the Antebellum Greek-Revival style. Women's GLO's did not arrive at Ole Miss until the 1890's, and then went subrosa during the time that the Mississippi Legislature banned GLO's entirely. When the GLO's began building facilities these homes were based on the impressive local surviving Greek Revival architecture and other gracious homes. Architecture is a form of market signaling by the builder/owner.

The honors college/ex ADPi house isn't attractive at all (reminds me of the fraternity quad at Carnegie-Mellon) but the columns bore me to tears. They all look alike to me.

I've read about the anti-fraternity legislation, but I didn't know that Greek life there just went underground instead of inactive.

Didn't the sororities have lodges before they had full housing?

I wonder if the architect was from AZ. Seriously! That structure would not raise any eyebrows here.

It is interesting (to me at least) how much geographical location affects style. I need to go photograph the various facilities at UofA and then post them. I will put that on the to-do list (which now rivals the length of the Federal Budget in terms of things needing my attention).

Is it geography, though, or age? Are the houses in the SW states as old?

Illinois has a weird thing where everyone put on an addition in the 60's, so there are lots of timeless houses with some weird box slapped on the side.
