I think that's how you have to look at dating in general. I have a girlfriend who treats every first date as if it's an interview for The One. Needless to say, even a mediocre first date turns into a disaster that leaves her crying. I've never had a bad first date because my expectations are realistic--I'll have fun, and maybe hit it off with a guy.

It is so BEYOND me how someone can misspell something that you have spelled correctly for them. You've got to be trying to look at it and still get it wrong.

How is it possibly possible that I missed this?? So glad it went well! And now I'm hungry for Chili's.

In other news, my couch smells like Axe. Whenever we nap, my couch inevitably smells like a man for a few days.

Rmember payphones & the phrase, "Here's a quarter to call somebody who cares,"? One of my claims to fame is school was that I did that to a guy and he dropped out!

I can't imagine dating any other way! Much, much less heartache.

This was the following lovely exchange with a dude from a faraway suburb after I checked his profile and he had answered "no" to "do you have a car." My responses are paraphrased, his are direct quotes and not altered.

The Talker is doing a pretty good job. Comments on Facebook that are just the right amount of flirtatious and called quickly tonight to say goodnight before he went to bed. He has to go in to work tomorrow in spite of Snowmageddon/Snowpocalypse. It doesn't feel clingy, but he's making a point to touch base with me.

I think I have realistic expectations but have still had some first dates end up being nightmares... like the drive in guy that one summer.

Woohoo! I love how much he tries to meet my needs. I've had a really sucky week (my friend died, my pet died, turmoil at work...). I told The Chessman a few minutes ago that I just feel really beaten down and he has declared he is taking me to the beach! I've never heard of this one but it's supposed to be one of the quieter beaches so I don't have to deal with people. Ooooh and I checked the weather, high of 71 today! *sigh* Can this day get any better??

*skips all the way to the shower*

Just noticed this I'm not sure I'm ready for him to know where I live yet. Yes, I am that cautious.

I don't know if I should be posting this here or not, but I got a box full of black heart and gold heart cookies today. I think he's a keeper.

You're kidding me, right? You think the dude is a keeper based on him giving you a box of cookies? Wtf?

A long drive through the mountains, a picnic on the beach, playing in the water, watching the sunset.....I know this was probably not even remotely fun for him but he did it for me. I have no words for how amazing I feel right now. This day was very nearly perfect.

And full of surprises.

He's just happy he got to see me in a bathing suit. Even exchange.
