Josh Gracin has started working on his debut album while finishing up his service in the Marines.
Here's where I read the news: http://www.us957.com/script/headline...try&feed_id=28

For anyone interested...
Clay will be on SNL this Saturday with Megan Mullaloly (sorry... I just butchered her last name but she's the girl from Will and Grace...)
Kelly and Ruben ( ) are up for grammys on Sunday.
Enjoy your Idol Weekend.

And a further update....Josh called into the local radio station this morning and was talking with the morning hosts. Anyways, they do a thing called 60 Seconds (or something like that, since they left their old station they now have to rename everything they do) and one of the questions they asked Josh was when his album comes out. He said he *thinks* around May 1st (he's now a Lyric Street recording artist, same company as Rascal Flatts, Rushlow, and others). They played the debut single, and it sounds wonderful!

For Clay's CD owners...
I just read this review about Measure of a Man:
Pros: Clay's got a very good voice, replete with genuine emotion.
Cons: Cookie-cutter arrangements and weak songs undermine Aiken's strengths.
I had to agree 110% -- I love Clay (okay, we all know that since he IS my husband...almost...will be...soon...) but the album was not what I had expected. Shine and Measure of a Man are prolly the two best songs that pull out his voice. The others (even my fav "The Way" - which was my fav from the moment I heard it) are just so weak for what he can do.
If you own the CD (or have heard it entirely) - what do you think?
{Okay - at least it doesn't suck a$$ like Sorry 2004}

I read a similar review. They said the CD was very "vanilla." I got a surprise review from my mom actually. She loves adult contemporary and whatnot... total Celine Dion/Josh Groban fan. She didn't like Clay's album because every song sounded the same to her. And I partly agree with her. But I guess that's what happens when producers run your life.
It would be really kick ass if he could write his own stuff. I would have a whole new respect for him. But I will settle for what he has now.
Actually my favorite songs are "touch" and "when you say you love me." Maybe cuz they are upbeat. And I'm sorry for those that haven't become a fan of Clay, but every time I listen to that album, I smile. It just makes me feel better. And it's weird cuz songs like "run to me" and "when you say..." I can actually... strangely... relate to.
But yeah... at least he had some better writers than Ruben did. Any song that includes the year it was made in the title usually sucks. Cuz if we were to hear that song in 2006, we can say... "remember when ruben was a so called AI?" Yeah i don't think it was a smart move.

I actually like all the songs on the CD...maybe I'm not a good judge of this *type* of music (I listen *mainly* to country) but I don't see how they're all the same....this CD is actually in my stereo right now so I'm usually listening to it every day while I work on homework or something in my room (when the TV's not on, that is).
