Unhappy Badges for sale

This person even admits it's her own badge that she's selling. Sad.

Why would she sell her own badge?? I'm so tempted to ask her why!

Probably $$$$. And the price of gold these days. However, things would have to get really bad before I sold my badge! It's more than just a piece of jewelry to me...

It's possible she resigned, or dropped out of school and doesn't realize she has alumna status, I suppose.

I wonder if there is any way we can set up a fund with the Fraternity in order to rescue badges......just a thought?? It's just a shame that people would sell them. If they resigned then their badge needed to be turned into EO at resignation....hmm...

Not that I would ever, ever, EVER get rid of my badge..but I know in my chapter, we buy our own badges, so if I was told that I needed to turn in my own personal property to someone if I desistered, I'd think that was a little silly.

I do agree though--Something needs to be done. Especially after that badge from 1892 was just sold to a collector...

I hate to be the one to tell you this but you signed a document during your new member period saying you would return it, and your membership certificate, if you ever severed your membership.

*crash* only 12 hours left in the auction, and I would like to see these lovely anchors find their way home:

190378149841

they are mixed in with Girl Scout badges and what looks to be a Phi Kappa Psi badge, and other assorted pins.

VERY sad. And yes, if you sever your status with the Fraternity, you are supposed to return your badge.

My pin is all pearl and so is my chapter guard. After all these years, it still means a lot to me.

That one needs to go to EO. I'll send a note to them about it.
