Awesome! I'm glad to get them out of the way then. Only 15 more (out of 45) to go! My goal: must finish tonight!!!!

ETA: Most awkward thank you note...to my grandma's sister who is in her mid/late sixties. She got me a serving set and....lingerie???? LOL Not that I mind, but I certainly did not see that one coming!!!

I just found this (Clicky) website for wedding planning. It's definitely more lax about planning a wedding than the knot, and it has spreadsheets.

I am wearing thin nylon knee high socks right now, and my bridesmaid hoes for this weekend in an attempt to loosen them up some. They are AWFUL! I am cringing while walking. There are eleventybillion straps and they're all cutting into my toes.

I read this over & over & over, trying to make it make sense to my brain before I finally scrolled down for your correction!

Are you are stuck with the uncomfortable shoes? If you are not required to wear that specific shoe, can you find new ones that won't have you barefoot 5 minutes after the wedding is over?

Are they elastic or leather? Could you bring them to a cobbler and ask them to stretch them? It's not a lot of time, but anything would probably help.

^^There's also a little product called Shoe Stretching Spray that's awesome! Put on the shoe, then spray the tight parts. The shoe will conform to your foot. I've never seen it in a white can before, though, it's usually black.

Yes, we are required to wear these exact shoes. I have wide feet to begin with, these shoes are narrow. I'm wearing them every night this week with some sort of sock on so they maybe stretch a little. I will have to search for shoe stretching spray, thanks Honey!

I <3 A Practical Wedding. I loved it so much I bought the book Meg (the primary editor) wrote, and I love that too. It's all about making the wedding what YOU want and think is important. Highly recommended!

The fiancé and I Skyped with our (almost) photographer. He lives about an hour away, so the wonders of modern technology came in handy. He's the best person for us, for sure. He even made me excited about wedding planning again!

So one of my sorority sisters got married two years ago tomorrow in a very quick civil ceremony on a Tuesday night. They had a simple reception afterward with homemade food at a small hall near the ceremony site. I'm pretty sure I gave them a card with a check at the time.

Tomorrow, they are having a religious ceremony and a lunch reception with a party at their house after that. I am attending again and bought a card. Do I give another gift of money? *so confused* I feel like I should because they're feeding me again.

I know this couple very well and I know they aren't doing this to get gifts again. When they had their civil ceremony (her second marriage, his first), she was pregnant and she didn't want her 9 year old from her previous marriage to know about that until they were married. She and her husband are both Catholic and she was seeking an annulment from her first marriage. With the quick timing, there wasn't time for that or the required Catholic waiting period. She ended up miscarrying, which was really sad. They are a fantastic couple and it is important to them to make this religiously official.

If I felt like this was a ploy for gifts, I wouldn't even consider giving one again. They aren't like that though, at all. Her first husband was incredibly controlling and emotionally abusive and she was always really timid and nervous. Now, she exudes confidence and happiness and I'm thrilled that she found this wonderful man.

I think I just answered my own question... I'm giving them another gift
