Social Media Policy

I'm looking for any written social media policies anyone has. PM me if you have something. Our chapter is considering adopting a written social media policy complete with dos and don'ts and what mediums can be used for what and expectation of behavior in those mediums, and whatever else we haven't even considered.

I'm sure a lot of NPC groups have something like that and I'd be very interested if anyone is willing to share.

Do you guys have a standards chair? I know for us, we can't do things like post pics of us with alcohol (if we're underage). We can't also be crusing all crazy, and just have to be very ladylike. If you aren't you get an x on the tweet/post/etc, and then after a certain amount you have a meeting with standards chair and whatnot. Is that what you mean?

Sort of. I'm thinking a written policy for all social media, so standards would be an aspect. And of course every chapter of everything has something like that, but so many of those rules are unwritten. I'm wondering whether anyone has bothered to write it down.,

I am suprised the S N National doesn't have something covering this? Have you checked with them? Now it sounds knind of dumb asking but like everyone else, we never look/seek in our own back yard?

I'm in touch with our HQ. Developing something like this would put us ahead of the curve.

Sigma Kappa does include a written section on technology in our National Policy Handbook. Unfortunately, we can't share that. So, I know that's not really any help to you, but I guess I wanted to affirm your suspicion that some NPCs groups likely already have this.

I figured. Just about any time I think something might be a good idea, I've learned to hit up my NPC contacts first because chances are, they managed it eons ago.

DPhiE already has a social media policy for awhile. I helped write it. I don't know that I can share it with you verbatim, but if you have questions, feel free to PM me.
