You're so bad. I miss Nina's. I remember when I was in undergrad, I would go to Dunn's Brothers to get my coffee and to study, but when I found out about Nina's that was my place. I love it there. Let me know of you're able sit at that table.

Campbell's must have changed their Select Harvest Maryland Style Crab Soup recipe, because there are actual chunks of crab in my bowl instead of itty-bitty crab hairs.

Oh, sorry to get your hopes up like that, but I wouldn't put it in the category of "Good Soup". It's more like "160 calories for the whole can of soup and will hopefully keep me full until dinner because I've got a ridic amount of holiday weight to lose and got sick of vegetable and chicken rice" soup. The chunks are gritty and taste like they were mechanically scraped out of the joints. But it's still an improvement.

He TOTALLY looks like a Walter.

We're watching a video in class and it's one of those old, out-of-date vids that you can tell were made forever ago.

The kid being observed is playing with a PeeWee Herman doll.

Those old, out-of-date vids are now set in my childhood.

By the way, we're reading this book in a Bible study at church called Love & Respect and I keep "hearing" your darn "voice" as I'm reading, because the whole premise of the book is based on the assumed "normal" gender roles and that men and women inherently perceive the world in different ways. An example he gives is that when a woman says "I have nothing to wear", she means "I have nothing new or special" but a man means "I have nothing clean". His point that he drills over and over and over (and over) is that men value respect and women value love, so men naturally give respect and women naturally love. This is his theory why the Bible says for men to love their wives and women to respect their husbands - because the opposite is naturally ingrained and God isn't into redundancy (unlike the author). In short, you'd probably hate it and cringe your way through each page. It has given me some insights into my marriage, though, since for the most part my husband and I fit the "normal" gender stereotype.

It was mmm good, too. There were a few people sitting at that table, so I couldn't get it. You know what I was going to say about Nina's? I'm surprised that an independent coffee shop like that one is still in business, because there's now a Starbucks not too far from it. It's on Lexington. I'm not sure how long it's been there, but I didn't remember seeing it last year when I was here. Nina's is still going strong, but I don't think that place would make it in Novi/Northville.

I borrowed that from my church's library but still haven't read it. I only got it because profs talked about it SO much during my Master's program so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

Today was a GREAT day! Two successful interviews (one for a side job and one for next year's practicum) and still looking forward to serving at the church dinner tonight. I really needed a good day and I'm so glad I got it.

It stated that the big reveal would be during the Superb Owl but my fingers are beyond crossed.

Oh I know, tell me about it. I don't think so either. I mean, here, there's a Starbucks and Biggby like, at every corner pretty much. Didn't get that table huh? $5 bucks you sat on one of those disgusting couches, ewwww! I'd really like to see St. Paul, now. I'm sure it's change a lot. My mom and I only go to MoA when I'm there for the holidays, then we go back to Fargo/Dilworth.

Hey!! Hope that you get it!! The Ga. Ren Fair isn't too far from where we are living now.

Curious..how does housing etc., work during the festival given that it is just on the weekends. Do y'all go back and forth from your real homes?

Thanks!

They have campgrounds there - many of the acts are on the road 10 months of the year and have campers/RVs. I'm commuting back and forth just on the weekends, and I have an SUV that I can sleep in. You actually wouldn't believe how many Renaissance festivals there are country-wide. One act even has two teams to attempt to cover them all and they still miss some.

Just finished making myself a pouch for my instruments - crystal flute/recorder/violin bow (I'm wearing my violin on my back like a backpack). It's suede grommetted and laced with leather. I'm pretty proud of it, since I'm so craft-challenged.

I tutor kids 4 days/week in a lrge group setting for a middle school program for students with learning disabilities.

Going from preschool to middle school kids is a whole new world.

Their dating lives/triangles = an episode of Y&R. I feel like I need a flow chart except for the fact that it changes every 5 minutes.

Billy is dating Suzie.
Last week, Suzie was dating Joey.
This week, Suzie refuses to sit by Joey because they broke up.
To get back at Suzie, Joey starts dating Jenny.
Joey's friend Mike likes Jenny.
Mike and Joey announce that they aren't friends anymore & refuse to sit by each other.
Jenny flirts with Mike but says they are just friends.
This makes Joey mad so he pretend flirts with Nicole, who is dating Chris.
Chris breaks up with Nicole for flirting with Joey.
This all culminates in a lunchroom meltdown (no fighting just lots of yelling) that results in ALL of these people getting sent to the office.
